The shaman operates from an ontological position. So while yes there is experience, the decision is made from the basis not of understanding but knowing. But then that knowing comes from being able to know what to do when you don’t know what to do. In my opinion the word transpersonal fits. The information is not in the shaman and not in the person the shaman is interacting with. It is in the interaction, or inter-subjective.
This presupposes you’re talking about a real shaman which is not what most people calling themselves shamans are.
